Eventually there is going to come a point in Barbados where these songs are classified as wukkup songs, and not part of what we define as calypso. The song is catchy, I like it for what it is. But to those that say 'this is what crop over is about".Crop Over is NOT just for wukkup songs. It is for social commentary, as well as solid classic soca tune, tunes like I in Dat, Mr. Dale's Come out.
This stuff is just a few lines, with a hook, and a typical drum beat kinda riddim. And half of these so called wukkup songs remind me of chants that schools have at the National stadium for inter-school sports. Very basic.
I am young, but also a Calypso Purist. I would love to see the day when our music is as international as reggae. Songs like this are good for Barbados and an occasional party in Brooklyn. But will never carry us to the next level.

Most of the comments here on this page express some liking for this song. Not Difficult to decipher why this situation exists because the two magic words Bumper and Wuk-up are contained in this song.
I can tolerate one or two of these songs. If this is the one let it be the one OK But I think the other song 'Ah Coming'-though an overworked theme with sexual undertones, is a more tolerable song. For example of tolerable songs- listen to among others -2k9 KROSFYAH or Peter Ram and Biggie Irie.I say tolerable or intolerable songs because I do not categorize a song as good or Bad---Art is neither good nor Bad.
